Who are we?

We are Grace and Nathan DeMetz. We just happen to be awesome personal trainers, as well!

Who do we work with?

We provide personal training services to all kinds of people, including the average client seeking improvement in health and fitness as well as amateur athletes focused on improving physical performance.

We also work with fitness models, persons going through rehab, and other individuals from time to time.

The Average Joe

Our client base primarily consists of people 30-60 years of age, with 75 percent 40+ years old, and 50 percent 50+ years old. Most seek weight loss, improvements in health, and a general improvement in fitness. Many of these people have outstanding health conditions, ranging from high blood pressure to diabetes to meniscus tears to amputations. We help each of them work on their health and fitness regardless of their health conditions or overall physical condition.

The Amateur Athlete

Our client base consists of strength athletes, marathon runners, and other individuals. We help them improve performance directly, such as improving run time or weight lifted, while also developing performance indirectly, by working on weak points and inefficacies.

What’s our experience?

We have a combined 20 years in the health and fitness world. Our education includes seven certifications, three degrees, and 1000s of hours of hands-on, practical application. See the trainers section on the homepage for more information.

What’s our approach?

We are not drill sergeants. We value cooperation, not intimidation. We are supportive but straightforward. We offer words of encouragement and always try to keep things professional and friendly. Humor is one of our many tools.

At the same time, there will be things you don’t understand and times where you will be non-compliant. It’s always your choice to follow or not follow our advice, but we will stress to the importance of sticking to the plan in order to reach your goals. At times, this straightforward approach can make us seem brash to some people. 

While we are always sensitive to the needs of the client, if you are offended easily, do not like change, cannot take direction, and/or are prone to emotional reactions, we may not be the trainers for you.

Where are we located?

We’re located in Goshen Indiana, just two minutes from Main Street and two minutes from the Black Squirrel Golf course. We have a home based private location with over $10,000 worth of equipment. The area is separated into three rooms: general purpose/resistance training, cardio, and martial arts. Since we work from home, we don’t give out our street address until ready to work with a new client, since we’ve had people problems with people showing up unannounced before.

What services do we provide?

We provide resistance training, such as bodybuilding, powerlifting, etc.; cross-training; circuit training; cardio training; running training; nutritional training; athletic/performance improvement, and martial arts training.

How many times per week do you need to train?

The number of times per week that you need to training depends on various factors, including your goals, physical ability, mental ability, and more. We recommend individuals start with 2-3 days per week.

How long are training sessions?

Typically, training sessions are 75 minutes, but vary depending on what we need to work on and how much time you have.

Can you contact us outside of training sessions?

Yes. We encourage you to communicate with us outside of training. If you have questions, we want to help. The in-session training is only part of the process, and we want to help you with the entire process, including staying motivated outside of training sessions. 

 

How does face-to-face training work?

 

The process begins after you make payment. We send you paperwork to fill out and schedule a phone call to review this paperwork (You can view more information about the forms and app here). The first training session is an assessment, as we need to see how fit you are to create a safe and effective training program. The second session is a review of the exercises we will use in your program and an explanation of the program. All subsequent sessions implement that program. We monitor progress over time, adjust weekly, monthly, and tri-monthly to ensure your results.

 

Additionally, we schedule solo workouts for you using our app. Once you're signed up, we input the solo workout into your app account. You view the various workouts in the app, under your training plan page or via the interactive calendar. Every exercise includes a video instructional, and each workout includes a text explanation for how to track, how long to rest, how to safely perform workouts, etc. 

 

The app works on iOS and Android phones as well as all desktop, laptop, and tablet computers. You can track in the app in real-time, or print the workout for the day and add the tracking later. You complete workouts during the week. We provide feedback for solo workouts in the app or face-to-face. For the record, this is not the same thing as online training, though there are some parallels. If you want more information about online training, visit demetzonlinepersonaltraining.com.

What’s our cancellation, reschedule, and refund policy?

We understand things change and will attempt to accommodate these changes through rescheduling. You must contact us a minimum of 48 hours in advance of your session to reschedule. Last minute changes will not be accepted. Sessions do not "roll over" to the next month if not used in the then current month. We utilize a use it or lose it approach. This method controls our costs and motivates you to show up. Occasionally, we make exceptions, but this occurs at the discretion of the trainer. We do not accommodate refunds. What if you prepaid but need to stop sessions temporarily?

You must use all sessions within three months of purchase. If you cannot redeem your sessions within this time, you must contact us to make arrangements. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of your training sessions and the related monies paid. However, if you make arrangements with us, you can redeem your sessions at a later date. Exact future redemption times and terms are determined at the discretion of the trainer, taking into consideration scheduling for both the client and the trainer, making reasonable accommodation for both. There are no exceptions.
